British Council

Accreditation UK is a quality assurance scheme for schools, colleges, and universities which offer courses in English as a Foreign Language (EFL).

The scheme gives an assurance of quality to international students who are taking or are planning to take an English language course in the UK.

External inspections assure that all accredited centres meet or exceed the agreed quality standards in management, resources and environment, teaching, welfare and (where applicable) care of under 18s .

Independent Schools Inspectorate

ISI is a Government approved inspectorate responsible for the inspection of Association independent schools. Schools in the Associations are ranked among the best in the world and educate more than half a million children in 1,200 schools. ISI also inspects private further education colleges and English language schools on behalf of the Home Office. Inspection is for the benefit of the pupils and students, and seeks to improve the quality and effectiveness of their education and care.

ISI carries out Educational Oversight inspections of private further education colleges and English language schools in England and Wales. This voluntary programme fulfils the inspection requirements necessary when applying for or renewing a Tier 4 licence to sponsor international students under the Points Based System.
